Privacy Policy

This Policy explains the information Unbe processes, why we process it, and the choices available to you.

Effective July 22, 2026

1. Scope and contact

This Policy applies to Unbe’s website, dashboard, command-line tools, APIs, and related support. It does not govern third-party services you choose to connect to Unbe.

For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@unbe.dev.

2. Information we process

  • Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and profile details.
  • Workspace information: workspace and project names, environments, memberships, roles, invitations, and access settings.
  • Customer Content: secret names, encrypted secret values, configuration, and other content you submit. Authorized service operations decrypt secret values when needed to deliver them to an authorized user, token, or command.
  • Usage and security information: audit events, commands and API actions, token metadata, timestamps, IP address, device and browser data, diagnostics, and error information.
  • Billing information: plan, subscription, transaction, and billing status. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment provider rather than stored by Unbe.
  • Communications: support requests, feedback, and transactional email delivery information.

3. How we use information

  • provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot Unbe;
  • authenticate users and enforce workspace, project, role, and token permissions;
  • process subscriptions and deliver transactional messages;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
  • understand service performance and improve reliability and usability;
  • comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information or use the contents of your secret values for advertising.

4. Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to perform our contract with you, pursue our legitimate interests in operating and securing Unbe, comply with legal obligations, and, where applicable, with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

5. When we share information

We share information only as needed with:

  • infrastructure, database, monitoring, email, identity, and support providers that help operate Unbe;
  • Polar and related payment providers for checkout, subscriptions, billing, and fraud prevention;
  • other members of a workspace according to workspace roles and settings;
  • authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and service integrity;
  • a successor in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not share Customer Content with third parties for their advertising.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account or workspace is active and as needed to provide the service. After deletion, we may retain limited information for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and financial recordkeeping. Residual copies may remain in backups until those backups are rotated.

Retention periods vary by data type, plan, workspace settings, and legal requirements. You can request account deletion by contacting us.

7. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and loss. Stored secret values use authenticated encryption, and access is controlled by workspace roles and scoped tokens. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International processing

Unbe and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing of, or receive a portable copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and complain to your local data-protection authority.

Send requests to privacy@unbe.dev. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

Unbe uses cookies and local storage needed for authentication, security, preferences, and core service operation. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will provide any notice and choice required by law.

11. Children

Unbe is intended for professional users and is not directed to children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the service or law changes. We will post the revised Policy, update the effective date, and provide additional notice for material changes when appropriate.
